Founder's Day of Giving 2018

Choose a giving level

The University was founded in 1919 as The Flint School of Automotive Trades and opened under the direction of Albert Sobey to train engineering and management personnel.

Bell Tower

There are 47 bells in the Alumni Carillon Tower—the first project of the Alumni Foundation (Association), dedicated on May 9, 1969, GMI's Golden Anniversary year.

Atwood Stadium has been an iconic landmark in the city of Flint for the past 85 years. Kettering University took ownership of the venue in 2013 and has restored the stadium to its former glory. Today, Atwood Stadium hosts a number of activities including football, soccer, lacrosse, health fairs, band competitions, concerts and 10k road races.

Favorite Student

Were you one of Reg's favorite students? Make a gift that reflects the number of consecutive teaching terms that Professor G. Reginald Bell taught after his arrival to campus in 1963--an incredible 205 consecutive terms!

Give a dollar for each foot between the Campus Center and Academic Building; the tunnel is 364 feet of pure underground awesomeness--especially when traversed in flip flops and shorts during the winter months.

In 1986, Frances Willson Thompson funded an endowment to support the operation of the GMI Residence Hall. Thousands of students who have attended GMI and Kettering have lived in this hall. Make a gift for each of the 437 dorm rooms in Thompson Hall.

A-Section vs. B-Section

How many times have you had to explain what sections mean at GMI/Kettering? We currently have 1,160 A-Section and 1,020 B-Section students. Represent your section with a gift for every A or B section student on campus! Who will win the battle this year?
